GBWAA Formally Merges With BWFP
The Greater Baldwin-Whitehall Athletic Association (GBWAA) is proud to announce the formal merger with Baldwin Whitehall Fast Pitch (BWFP). For several years, GBWAA and BWFP operated as separate entities with several areas of overlap and duplication of services. Through the merger of the two associations we are now better able to provide services in a more seamless manner, with less confusion for parents, players and the community.
The new GBWAA will be structured to better meet the needs of the membership. Following the precedent that was set during the merger talks with North Baldwin Athletic Association three years ago, the GBWAA Executive Board has been revised and restaffed. After many years of dedicated service, Ron Einwag and Ken Kozlowski have tendered their resignations. They will both be deeply missed. We have searched to not only replace those that have resigned but to add a position to the board. The new board has been expanded to nine (9) seats, with an added emphasis on fast pitch softball and travel leagues as well as possessing a different structure. See the new GBWAA Executive Board.
We believe the current Board members possess the skills and desire to best meet the needs of the organization and its membership. The Board consists of a balance of experienced members as well new members with younger children that will be part of the association for several years to come!
This merger provides for a more unified association to represent the communities of Baldwin and Whitehall. There is much work left to do to prepare for the season. We look forward to working to meet the needs of the players and families.
